In April 2007, the UK's 15–25 age group spent 24% more time online than the average UK Internet user, says a new study by comScore… This demographic group represents about 16% of the total population. As you might expect, this is the Social Networking generation: sites like Facebook, Bebo and Alloy dominate the list of web properties targeting this market.
This is the age group that has literally grown up with the web, and comScore believes that this segment's statistical over-representation in the new study simply reflects the fact that 15–24s are very comfortable with the web, using it for communications, content, community and commerce more than other age segments. |
